THE CRUCIFIXION OF YAHUSHA

In this video of The Bible Project, we see how YaHUsha’s work and ministry culminated in a week of controversy leading up to the celebration of Passover.

We will explore the Gospel of Luke 19 – 23, and how it came about that the innocent YaHUsha ended up being executed as a revolutionary rebel against Rome.

We will also see how YaHUhsa was not at all surprised because He believed that His death would open up a new future for Israel, and for all humanity.

THE CRUCIFIXION OF YAHUSHA

GAAN AF NA DIE POTTEBAKKER SE HUIS

In die Woord word die mens as ‘n aardse kruik uitgebeeld.  Adam is gemaak uit die stof van die aarde (Gen. 2:7). 

Die woord vir ‘n houer van klei (kleipot) is Strong’s H3627 wat kom vanaf die wortelwoord H3615 “kalah”, wat beteken “om te end”. 

Dit is soos om iets af te rond totdat dit reg is, soos wat ‘n houer voltooid en reg moet wees vir die inhoud wat dit gaan vul, gereed om gebruik te kan word.

Die Hebreeuse woord vir “bruid”, nl. “kallah” (H3618), is afgelei vanaf dieselfde wortelwoord.  Die bruid vul haar man aan en maak hom “kompleet”, volgens die betekenis van die wortelwoord.  In die begin is die vrou uit die man geneem  (Gen. 2:18, 21 – 24).

Paulus het die verloste mens beskryf as ‘n erdekruik, maar met JaHUsha se Gees van verligting as ‘n ”skat” daar binne-in (2 Kor. 4:5 – 7).

5 Want ons verkondig nie onsself nie, maar Messias JaHUsha as Meester, en onsself as julle diensknegte om JaHUsha se ontwil.

6 Want Elohiem wat gesê het dat daar uit duisternis lig moet skyn — dit is Hy wat in ons harte geskyn het om ons te verlig met die kennis van die heerlikheid van Elohiem in die aangesig van JaHUsha Messias.

7 Maar ons het hierdie skat in erdekruike, sodat die voortreflikheid van die krag van Elohiem mag wees en nie uit ons nie.

Die 6 klipkanne by die Bruilof te Kana is verteenwoordigend van die mens (die getal 6 is simbolies van die mens) wat as die Bruid van JaHUsha met Sy Gees vervul moet wees en dit word gesimboliseer  deurdat die water in die waterkanne in wyn verander het.

As deel van die Bruid van die Bruidegom, word gelowiges simbolies as verskillende kruike uitgebeeld in die Woord.  Ons is soos “klei in die hande van die Pottebakker”.

GO DOWN TO THE POTTER’S HOUSE

In Scripture, man is depicted as an earthen vessel.  Adam was made from the dust of the earth (Gen. 2:7).

The word for a vessel of clay is Strong’s H3627 which comes from the root word H3615 “kalah”, which means “to end”.

It is to finish something off until it is ready, like a container must be completely finished and ready for the contents that it will hold, ready to be used.

The Hebrew word for “bride”, namely “kallah” (H3618), is derived from the same root. The bride complements the man as she makes him “complete”, according to the meaning of the prime root.

Paul described the redeemed person as an earthly vessel, with YaHUsha’s Spirit of enlightenment as a “treasure” inside (2 Cor. 4:5 – 7).

“For we preach not ourselves, but Messiah YaHUsha the Master;  and ourselves your servants for YaHUsha’s sake. For Elohim, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of Elohim in the face of YaHUsha Messiah. But we have THIS TREASURE IN EARTHEN VESSELS, that the excellency of the power may be of Elohim, and not of us.”

The 6 water pots of stone at the Wedding at Cana are representative of man (the number 6 is symbolic of man), as the Bride of YaHUsha who must be filled with His Spirit and this is symbolised by the water which was in the pots that was turned into wine.

As part of the Bride of the Bridegroom, believers in Messiah YaHUsha are symbolised as different vessels in Scripture.  We are “like clay in the hands of the Potter”.

DIE PROFETIESE BETEKENIS VAN DIE BRUILOF IN KANA

Tydens die bruilofsfees by Kana het JaHUsha sy eerste wonderwerk gedoen deur die water in wyn te verander.  Die nuwe wyn is in kontras met die water van die ou (Levitiese) gebruike.  JaHUsha het later voortgegaan om die hernude Pasga-simboliek van die brood en wyn aan hulle bekend te stel.

Wat in hierdie komende dokument beskryf word as “die Kerk”, is die Nuwe Skepsel in Messias JaHUsha as die “Israel van Elohiem” (Gal. 6:15 – 16).

Dit is dus nie bloot die fisiese Israel van die Ou Testamentiese bedeling nie (hoewel hulle ‘n voorbeeld en tipe was, 1 Kor. 10:1 – 11), want nie almal is ”Israel” wat uit fisiese Israel is nie (Rom. 9:6 – 8).

Die Israel van Elohiem in Gal. 6:15 – 16 is “in” JaHUsha wat die Hoof is, met die Gelowiges in Hom as Sy Liggaam.  Hy is as “Seun” uit Egipte geroep (Matt. 2:15) net soos wat dit met fisiese Israel as die  “seun”van JaHUaH gebeur het met die uittog uit Egipte (Hos. 11:1, Hos. 12:14, Ex. 4:22 – 23).   JaHUsha was ook in die woestyn soos wat fisiese Israel was (Matt. 4:1 -11).

Met die gebeure by die Bruilof in Kana word die verheerlikte “My Verbond” van die Melgisedekorde-priesterskap as die “beste wyn” gesimboliseer en profeties geïmplimenteer, want ‘n huweliksluiting is ‘n verbond tussen twee partye. 

Die Melgisedekorde wat deur Eersgeborenes geopereer het was onderbreek toe die Levitiese priesterorde ingestel was as gevolg van die aanbidding van die Goue Kalf terwyl Moses op die berg was. Eersgeborenes is toe losgekoop en uitgeruil met Leviete (Num. 3), maar dit sou net duur totdat JaHUsha ‘n finale regstelling en ‘n transformasie van die priesterskap as Sy “dienaars” sou kom maak het, soos wat dit hier inderdaad simbolies gebeur deur middel van die Bruilof in Kana se “dienaars”. 

Die water hier by Kana simboliseer die fisiese Levitiese bedeling en die verandering na wyn verteenwoordig die transformasie na die geestelike as die “beter wyn”.  Dit is inderdaad die “Beste Wyn” wat tot laaste gelos is.

‘n Bruilof gaan oor ‘n verbondsluiting.  Die Bruilof in Kana sinspeel op die “My-Verbond” tussen Elohiem en Sy getransformeerde Israel (Gal. 6:15 – 16) en op die Bruilof van die Lam (vergelyk Ex. 19:1 – 25) wat ‘n koninkryk VAN priesters behels, nie ‘n koninkryk MET Levitiese priesters nie (vergelyk Ex. 19:5 –  6 met 1 Pet. 2:9).  Die Melgisedekorde (beste wyn) gaan gepaard met die “My-Verbond” as die Ewige Verbond en dit staan teenoor die “‘n-Verbond” wat die fisiese en uitgediende Levitiese sisteem is (water).   Daar was van die begin af ‘n onderskeid tussen die twee verbonde.  (Sien:  VERBONDE, VERSKILLEND OF DIESELFDE)

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE WEDDING IN CANA

At the wedding feast at Cana Jesus performed his first miracle by changing the water into wine.  The new wine is in contrast to the water of the old traditions.  Jesus later went on to introduce the new Passover symbolism of the bread and wine.

What is described in this upcoming document as “the Church”, is the New Creation in Messiah YaHUsha as the “Israel of Elohim” (Gal. 5:15 – 16).

It is therefore not simply the physical Israel of the Old Testament (although they were an example and type, 1 Cor. 10:1  – 11), because not all are “Israel” who are from physical Israel (Rom. 9:6 – 8).

The Israel of Elohim in Gal. 6:15 – 16 is in YaHUsha who is the Head, with the Believers in Him as the Body.  He was called from Egypt as the “Son” of YaHUaH (Matt. 2:15) just like with physical Israel whom was also called YaHUaH’s “son” with the exodus from Egypt (Hos. 12:14, Ex. 4:22 – 23).

With the events at the Wedding in Cana, the “My-Covenant” of the Melchizedek priesthood is symbolised and prophetically implemented as the “best wine”.

The Melchizedek order operates through Firstborns and was interrupted when the Levitical priestly order was instituted as a result of the worship of the Golden Calf while Moses was on the mountain, after which Firstborns were then redeemed and exchanged with Levites (Num. 3), but this would only last until YaHUsha would come to make a final correction and a transformation of the priesthood as His “servants”, as it is indeed happening here symbolically at the Wedding in Cana.

Water symbolises the Levitical dispensation and the change to wine represents the transformation to the spiritual as the “better wine”.  It is indeed the “Best Wine” that was left for last.

A wedding is about the making of a covenant.  The Wedding in Cana alludes to the “My Covenant” between Elohim and “His” transformed Israel (Gal. 5:15 – 16) and to the Wedding of the Lamb (compare Ex. 19:1 – 25) which involves a kingdom OF priests , not a kingdom WITH Levitical priests (compare Ex. 19:5 – 6 with 1 Pet. 2:9).  The Melchizedek order (best wine) is accompanied by the “My-Covenant” as the Eternal Covenant and it is opposed to the “A Covenant” which is the physical and obsolete Levitical system (water).  The two covenants were not the same from the beginning.

SPIRITUAL RENEWAL

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be changed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of Elohim”. Rom. 12:2.

THE WORD INTO OUR HANDS

Almost everyone has a Bible or three to read from in our day, but it was not always like that.  How did the Bible reached each of us personally?  Let us briefly look at the last part of the road that the Word took to reach us.

The Bible Society started with a Welsh girl, Mary Jones, who had a deep desire for a Bible.  Mary was born at a time when Bibles were very rare and expensive and she had a deep longing from an early age to have her own Bible.  At the age of 15, after she had saved for years and years, she walked about 40 km to get a Bible.

DIE WOORD TOT IN ONS HANDE

Ons het vandag byna elkeen ‘n Bybel of drie om vanuit te lees, maar dit was nie altyd so nie.  Hoe het die Bybel tot by ons persoonlik gekom?  Kom ons kyk kortliks wat was die laaste ent van die pad wat die Woord geloop het sodat dit vandag binne elkeen van ons se bereik is.

Die Bybelgenootskap het begin by ‘n Walliese meisie, Mary Jones, wat ‘n diep begeerte na ‘n Bybel gehad het.  Mary is gebore in ‘n tyd toe Bybels baie skaars en duur was en sy het van kleins af ‘n diep verlange na ‘n eie Bybel gehad.  Op 15-jarige ouderdom, nadat sy vir jare en jare gespaar het, het sy ongeveer 40 km te voet afgelê om ‘n Bybel te bekom.

NIMROD, BABEL EN DIE DIER

Mens lees in die Woord van die Dier met die sewe koppe en daaruit spruit die verskillende horings. 

Dit is interessant dat profesie Babilon as ‘n “dier” uitbeeld in Daniël en in Openbaring.  Nebukadnesar as die koning van Babilon het soos ‘n dier geword omdat hy JaHUaH nie geag het nie.

NIMROD, BABEL AND THE BEAST

We read in Scripture about the Beast with the seven heads and from them spring the different horns.

It is interesting that prophecy portrays Babylon as a “beast” in Daniel and in Revelation. Nebuchadnezzar as the king of Babylon became like a beast because he did not honour YaHUaH.
