THE DESTRUCTION OF JERUSALEM

Prior to the New Testament days of YaHUsha, the Temple of Elohim had been destroyed during the invasion of Jerusalem by the Babylonians. We know this because YaHUaH told the prophet Jeremiah that it would come to pass as divine judgment on His people.

In light of that, how should we interpret the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.? Was that an act of divine judgment? Was there a prophet to foretell that event?

In this video entitled “The Destruction of Jerusalem,” Dr. Sproul introduces us to one of the best attested historical events in ancient history as it relates to redemptive history.

TIME, TIMES AND HALF A TIME

This is a term that appears in the book of Daniel and in the book of Revelation.  Daniel gives us the prophecy and in the book of Revelation the prophecy is revealed as it would play out in the future concerning the Followers of YaHUsha, namely the 7 Assemblies and also those who will come from them.

It is related to Dan. 9:24 – 27’s very important and outstanding prophecy and more specifically with the 2 halves of the 70th week of years namely verses 26 and 27. 

This prophecy is about YaHUsha who would come as the Anointed One at a specific time in history and then it is also about the role of the Adversary on the other side.  

Consequently, it also involves the proclamation of the gospel of YaHUsha and the Kingdom of Heaven to all nations, tongues and peoples, but not only that.  It is also about the role of the Adversary in thwarting the expansion of YaHUsha’s Heavenly Kingdom and trying to hijack it for himself by the persecution of Believers in YaHUHsa, but in the end the Adversary is defeated.

Thus “time, times and a half time” has a physical and historical meaning as well as a prophetic meaning. The prophetic meaning is in other words built on the physical events which were historical, meaning that that history must be examined if we are to gain insight about the term.

This writing leads the reader to understand how “time, times and a half time” relate to the Heavenly Kingdom’s New Testament Church (as Spiritual Israel whose Tabernacle is the Heavenly).

As it appears in the book of Revelation, it is a prophetic period that has been going on for more than 2,000 years already because it also involves the entire period of the last part of Daniel’s Image with the Babylonian head, namely that of the Roman Empire, where we now are at its toes.  

From where we find ourselves, therefore, this period is historical, present and future and not just future as popular eschatology spreads it.

TYD, TYE EN ‘N HALWE TYD

Dit is ‘n term wat voorkom in die boek van Daniël en in die boek van Openbaring.  Daniël gee vir ons die profesie en in die boek van Openbaring word die profesie geopenbaar soos wat dit toekomstig sou afspeel t.o.v. die Volgelinge van JaHUsha, nl. die 7 Gemeentes en ook vir diè wat uit hulle sal voortkom.

Dit staan in verband met Dan. 9:24 – 27 se baie belangrike en uistaande profesie en meer spesifiek met die 2 helftes van die 70e jaarweek naamlik vers 26  en 27.

Diè profesie handel oor JaHUsha wat as Gesalfde op ‘n spesifieke tyd in die geskiedenis sou kom en dan ook die rol van Sy Teenstander aan die anderkant.  

Dit behels gevolglik ook die verkondiging van die evangelie aangaande JaHUsha aan alle volke, nasies en tale, maar nie net dit nie.  Dit handel ook oor die Teenstander se rol om die uitbreiding van JaHUsha se Hemelse koninkryk te kortwiek en vir homself te probeer kaap deur die vervolging van Gelowiges, maar uiteindelik word die Teenstander oorwin.

So het “tyd, tye en ‘n halwe tyd” ‘n fisiese en geskiedkundige betekenis asook ‘n profetiese betekenis.  Die profetiese betekenis word m.a.w. gebou op die fisiese gebeure wat histories was en diè geskiedenis moet  ondersoek word as ons insig oor die term wil bekom.

Hierdie skrywe lei die leser om te verstaan hoedat tyd, tye en ‘n halwe tyd in verband staan met die Hemelse Koninkryk se Nuwe Testamentiese Kerk (as Geestelike Israel wat ‘n Hemelse Tabernakel het)

Soos die term in die boek van Openbaring voorkom is dit ‘n profetiese tydperk wat al meer as 2 000 jaar lank aan die gang is want dit behels tegelykertyd ook die hele tydperk van die laaste gedeelte van Daniël se Beeld met die Babiloniese kop, nl. diè van die Romeinse Ryk, waar ons nou al by die tone daarvan trek. 

Van waar ons ons bevind is diè tydperk dus geskiedkundig, teenswoordig en toekomstig en nie net toekomstig soos gewilde eskatalogie dit versprei nie.

DIE TABERNAKEL VAN DAWID SE RESTORASIE

Die boek Amos handel oor die volk Israel se vervalle toestand.  Hulle was ver van JaHUaH af en in afgodery vasgevang.  In Amos 7:8 en 8:2 sê JaHUaH by monde van Amos dat Hy hulle nie meer gaan oorsien nie (“nie meer by hulle sal verby gaan nie”) en vergelyk Hy hulle “einde” met ‘n afgeplukte mandjie somervrugte.  In Hebreeus klink “somervrugte” en “einde” baie dieselfde.  JaHUaH het dus met woordspeling aangedui dat Hy die streep getrek het en dat fisiese Israel se einde in sig was.   Die seisoen vir hulle was verby en hulle sou “afgepluk” word soos somervrugte aan die einde van die seisoen.

DANIËL 9 SE PROFETIESE SKAT

Daniël 9 se inhoud bevat die kosbare en meestal onontdekte Skat van die tydstip waarop die Gesalfde (JaHUsha), JaHUaH se Verbond met Abraham sou kom bekragtig het.  Daniël was ‘n geliefde man en JaHUaH vertrou diè Skat aan hom toe.  Dit is ons voorreg vandag om die besondere Skat “uit te grawe” of uit te pluis, want dis diep weggebêre onder valse verklarings en misleiding, van toeka af tot nou.

JERIGO Deel 1 Jerigo op die Pad vanaf Mitzrayim na Yerushalayim

Die eerste stad wat Josua en die Volk moes inneem nadat hulle die Jordaan oorgesteek het, was Jerigo.  Hierdie geskiedkundige feit het enorme spirituele betekenis vir ons vandag. Die reis begin in Egipte.  Die profetiese bloed van die lammetjie aan die deurposte toe hulle in Egipte was, is baie jare later vervul in Jerusalem toe JaHUsha as die Lam van Elohiem dààr gesterf het.

THE DANIEL 9:25 – 27 PROPHECY

Many people have a theology of placing Dan. 9:25 – 27 at the end of time.  They say … “He will confirm a Covenant with many for one ’seven’ “ … applies to the Anti-messiah who puts an end to rebuilt Temple animal sacrifices. It could just as easily apply to Messiah with Him being “cut off” after 3.5 years in the midst of the week and the other 3.5 years ending with the stoning of Stephan.
