WEDDINGS OF ANCIENT ISRAEL, A picture of the Messiah

What does Scripture mean when it refers to Believers as a Bride and YaHUsha as a Bridegroom? The people of Ancient Israel understood what YaHUsha was going to do because they understood the model of the wedding.

The analogy between a wedding and Messiah and the Church/Congregation, is described in Ephesians 5:31 – 32:

“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a profound mystery – but I am talking about Messiah and the church.”

This document overviews the practices of an ancient Jewish betrothal and wedding. In parallel it shows how YaHUsha has fulfilled the betrothal portion of the wedding and how He may fulfill the remainder when He comes again for His bride, namely all the Believers in Him as the Renewed Spiritual Israel.

The origin of the document is unfortunately not known.

CHEMISTRY OF THE BLOOD

The virgin birth of the Messiah was a necessity due to the fact that sin is in the blood.  The Messiah had to be a “son” of Adam but at the same time also a sinless Man.  YaHUaH found a way through which YaHUsha as the Messiah would be born from a woman (but not with the help of a man) and thus He was perfectly human but did not share in Adam’s sin, since He had not a drop of blood from Adam (i.e. the blood from a human being) in His veins.

A foetus gets its blood when the father’s sperm comes into play.  The mother does not contribute to the blood or blood type.  Mary got pregnant through the power of the Set Apart Spirit and not by means of an earthly man.

In the fullness of time, Elohim sent His own Son, born of a woman, into the world to shed His precious blood once and for all at the end of His life.  After that, no more sacrifices are needed.  The blood of the sacrificial animals of the Old Testament, perished and was soon gone, but the blood that was shed on Golgotha is set apart blood and imperishable.  It is indestructible and very precious.   Peter said:

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;   But with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot”    (1 Pet. 1:18, 19)

Read this booklet from years ago as it was published by Orcutt Christian Church on the internet for more information. It was written by a medical doctor dr. M.R. de Haan who was also a Believer.  Though the real titles of YaHUaH and YaHUsha were not used in those years, we can exchange it ourselves while reading as there is wonderful information in this booklet.
