By calling Himself the Good Shepherd, YaHUsha declared Himself the Saviour of Israel.
Although the title “Good Shepherd” is only found in the New Testament, YaHUsha deliberately reached out to the Old Testament with these words when He was talking to the Pharisees in the presence of His disciples.
He wanted them to understand that He is the Messiah of whom the Old Testament scriptures prophesied, but the Pharisees did not believe Him.
